Saving lives one mile at a time

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Trevor Derr, 721st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron flight chief, runs with an American flag at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Dec. 7, 2021. Derr originally began running as part of a New Year’s resolution to run 1,000 miles a year. After losing a friend who struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder, Derr shifted his goal to running with the flag and raising awareness for mental health.
