Roughing it like Rangers
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Trent Sloan, 435th Contingency Response Squadron mobile aerial port journeyman, carries a 45-pound rucksack and his weapon for 12 miles as the final event in the Ranger Assessment and Preparation Course at Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Kaiserslautern, March 30, 2021. The 12-mile ruck must be completed in three hours, testing an Airmen’s fortitude. The Ranger Assessment and Preparation Course, hosted by the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing, is designed to familiarize Airmen with the skills and challenges they will face if they get accepted to the United States Army Ranger School.
