U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. David Cull, 86th Airlift Wing Inspector General readiness inspection planner and U.S Air Force Master Sgt. Richard Martinez, 86th Airlift Wing Inspector General complaints and resolution superintendent, threw green smoke to identify simulated damage during exercise Nodal Lightning 20-2 at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Oct. 20, 2020. Cull and Martinez threw the smoke after a simulated air attack on the 721st Air Mobility Operations Group building. Exercise Nodal Lightning 20-2’s objective on Ramstein was to execute live events focused on executing the mission in a contested, degraded, and/or operationally limited environment.
