Raven applicants refuse to quit in preparation to become one
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Trevor Holman, 7th Reconnaissance Squadron area supervisor and Raven applicant, stationed at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, grimaces during one of hundreds of forward lunges he completed during the 86th Security Forces Ravens pre-qualification course on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Jan. 15, 2020. The pre-qualification course tests an applicant’s ability to endure extreme mental and physical strain in preparation for the 26-day Raven qualification course at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. Senior Airman Kaine Leighty, 86th Security Forces Ravens section member and Raven pre-qualification course lead instructor, said in some cases it’s almost impossible for the Raven applicants to finish every exercise to completion. Leighty said what the Ramstein Raven team does want to see from applicants is an unrelenting drive, spirit to keep going and the will to never quit. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kristof J.
