Joan Salter, Holocaust survivor, speaks at the 86th Airlift Wing’s Holocaust Remembrance as an honored guest on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, May 24, 2018. Salter was three months old when Germany invaded her country of residence, Belgium. The 86th AW Holocaust Remembrance honors all who were persecuted in the Holocaust as well as anyone affected by the tragedy, including rescuers and U.S. soldiers who risked their lives during the liberation.
