Ramstein, Spangdahlem Airmen remember the Wereth 11
Airmen from 786th Civil Engineer Squadron and 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron salute during a ceremony to commemorate the Wereth 11 in Wereth, Belgium, March 24, 2017. A permanent memorial stands in the exact location in the small village of Wereth where 11 African American soldiers were found tortured and executed by the Nazi SS. The 11 Soldiers were a part of the 333rd Field Artillery Battalion when they were separated during the Battle of the Bulge, and later captured by the Nazi SS. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech Sgt.
