Chapter closes after 54-year journey

John Mace, 86th Medical Group special operations medical officer, worked more than 50 years in the military and is scheduled to retire Dec. 12, 2014, at Ramstein Air Base. Mace was active duty for 25 years in the Army and Air Force, and joined again as a civilian for another 29 years.
