Pumpkin Chuckin’
Tech. Sgt. Jason Crawford, 721st Aerial Port Squadron passenger service supervisor, launches one last pumpkin during the second annual Pumpkin Chuckin’ competition at Donnelly Park, Oct. 14, 2013, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The alternative design used for the trebuchet enabled the siege engine to be lighter, but not able to launch the pumpkins far enough for a victory over the other team’s massive machine. The competition began after the two teams assembled their catapults and launched a few test pumpkins. After the test firing was over, each team had three measured launches with the single longest toss deciding the victor. The event was held in an effort to raise morale and promote esprit de corps within the KMC. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Jose L. Leon)
