Red Ribbon Relay
'No thanks' The U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern's Command Sgt. Major Richard Jessup (left) jokes with Col. Francis Brown (right), the 431st Air Base Group commander, about carrying the unit's Guidon Oct. 25 during the garrison's Red Ribbon Relay at the track near the Vogelweh Commissary. More than 630 Soldiers, Airmen, civilians and their family members ran laps - more than double the number of people who participated last year. The 431st ABG's participation in the relay marks the first by an Air Force unit. Close to 70 community members volunteered for the event, which supports Red Ribbon Week. This national observance encourages everyone in the community to take a visible stand against drugs, alcohol and tobacco. U.S Army photo by Christine June.
