Wing commander gets drug tested
United States Air Force Col. Don Bacon (left), 435th Air Base Wing commander, receives his urinalysis cup and instructions from Yvette Flemming, Ramstein Drug Demand Reduction Program administration manager at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, May 15, 2009. The DDRP was mandated by DOD in 1981 with the mission of deterring and identifying drug use among military personnel. Though commanders do have the authority to mandate screening of their personnel, most Airmen, like Colonel Bacon, are summoned through the random selection process.
