Energy Conservation

Tech. Sgt. Sean White warms his car up prior to going to work on 21 October 2009, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Under German law it's illegal to leave an unoccupied car running for more than three minutes, and being cited for the infraction comes with a ticket and a 30 euro fine. An unattended running vehicle is not only illegal; it results in the unnecessary emission of air pollutants and wastes valuable fuel. October is energy conservation month which provides us the opportunity to increase awareness of the energy challenges that confront our planet. If we all make an effort to develop our own personal conservation habits, together we can make a difference. (U.S. Air Force photo by: Tech. Sgt. Sean M. White)
