Wing receives additional C-130Js, increased capability
Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, 3rd Air Force commander, gives a thumbs up during his acceptance inspection March 2 of aircraft number 8609, the 11th C-130J to join Ramstein Air Base’s fleet. The general accepted the aircraft at the Lockheed Martin plant in Marietta, Ga., and flew the plane back to Ramstein. The new C-130Js provide Ramstein’s 37th Airlift Squadron with more payload capability, greater range, and additional combat airpower for U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command.
