Carpathian Summer 2010

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class John DeLong, Explosive Ordinance Disposal Mobile Unit 8 aircrew survival equipmentman, ensures that he has proper frequency on a PRC-117 mobile communication unit, Camp Turzii, Romania, May 13, 2010. Petty Officer 1st Class DeLong was the sole American Force on the ground during a Romanian paratrooper jump from a U.S. Air Force C-130J during exercise Carpathian Summer. Carpathian Summer 2010 was an exercise in which the Romanian Air Force invited members of the U.S. military to train with them on their soil and air space, to observe and practice, firsthand, operations in action.
