The Airman and Family Readiness Center provide activities and services for members of the KMC to advance and adapt to the military way of life and promote self-sufficiency to strengthen the community.

The center offers services such as information and referral, discovery resources and exceptional family members programs as well as relocation assistance to accommodate Ramstein Airman in the best way possible.

"Ramstein A&FRC strives to create and support ready and resilient Airmen and families through multiple programs and services," said Sara Wilson A&FRC lead life consultant. "We provide a unique German experience for newcomers through a local cultural orientation class and tours that empower them not only to survive the German culture but to enjoy it."

The heart of the A&FRC is information and referral. They answer all questions or provide the specific services an Airmen may need. If they can't assist in any way, they provide the resource as needed.

The discovery resource center provides computers with Internet access for customer use during relocation. The computers can also be used for job search, resume writing, checking private email accounts and any other web services that can provide assistance.

The family support function of the EFMP is designed to provide support to military family members with special needs in the form of information and referral.

"The A&FRC provides family support to exceptional family members, manages the by-law Transition Assistance Program for separating or retiring members, (and) offers financial support through briefings and individual consultations," said Wilson.

The A&FRC also promotes family preparedness through education and participation in readiness support. Families are also provided assistance during extended absences of the military member, emergencies and natural disasters.

"The center helped me adjust to Air Force and German life style," said Airman 1st Class Jonathan Walsh 86th Communication Squadron knowledge operations management commander support staff. "It's a beneficial support center that has definitely made an impact on me and my family."
