Members of the KMC participated in Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6 to 11. Sparky the fire dog and KMC firefighters visited various military elementary schools facilities to teach this year's theme of preventing kitchen fires. Participants were given home fire-prevention checklists and other materials on how to check fire extinguishers and make escape plans. Children were able take tours of the Vogelweh Fire Station, different fire trucks and see what firefighters do daily.
