At the same time, the first car-free Moscheltal event will take place. The road in the valley between Obermoschel and Waldgrehweiler called Moscheltal will close to motorized traffic 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. County road L379 will turn into an adventure area on 10 kilometers for bicyclists, hikers and skaters. The villages along the route - Obermoschel, Sitters, Schiersfeld, Finkenbach-Gersweiler and Waldrehweiler -- will offer an entertaining program including live music, guided tours and exhibitions. Associations and restaurants will serve culinary specialties with the emphasis on regional dishes. Children's activities feature face paining, soccer, duck races and a magician. Obermoschel will have its radio museum open. Guided tours of the smallest town in the Pfalz are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sitters will celebrate a playground fest, which starts with a Protestant bikers' worship service at 10:30 a.m. There will be a display of old tractors and agricultural equipment, a jumping castle and a gold-nugget search with real Alaska gold nuggets from the Yukon River. Schiersfeld and Finkenbach-Gerweiler will offer a variety of children's activities. Waldgrehweiler will display old bicycles. Children can take a ride on a merry-go-round and visit a petting zoo. If walkers get tired, they can take a ride in the horse taxi. Obermoschel is located on federal street B420, north of Lauterecken.
