New seat gives loadmasters safer ride
Tech. Sgt. Ryen Yokom (left), 86th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, and Joel Rykard, 560th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron mechanic from Robbins Air Force Base, Georgia, install a new seat into a C-130J Super Hercules as part of the Time Compliance Technical Order configuration April 4, 2014, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The new seat will enable loadmasters to have an approved seat for takeoffs and landings and will increase their survivability in the event of a hard landing or crash. It will also allow the loadmaster to safely scan for surface-to-air weapons while in flight.(U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Holly Mansfield)
