The Ramstein Education Center is hosting its first CLEP-a-thon of the new year at Ramstein Air Base and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany from Feb. 9 to 13, 2015.

The CLEP-a-thon allows Airmen an opportunity to earn credits toward their Community College of the Air Force degree or any upper-level degree an individual may be working towards without having to schedule test dates weeks in advance.

"Normally, Airmen have to schedule the day they want to test two or three weeks in advance," said Annette Henderson, 86th Force Support Squadron education services specialist. "This makes it very difficult for some people because they don't know what their work schedule will look like that far in advance."

The week-long event also allows Airmen to CLEP as many courses as they want. During the CLEP-a-thon last year, 1,400 Airmen from Ramstein participated in the event, contributing to the highest amount of CCAF degrees earned at a single Air Force installation in 2014.

"Last year, we had 650 Airmen earn their CCAF degree," Henderson said. "The CLEP-a-thon really helped contribute to that, and we're hoping for more Airmen to come out to our two locations this year."

Walk-ins will be accepted Feb. 9 to 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Feb. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ramstein National Test Center, building 2104, room 109, and Landstuhl National Test Center, building 3701, room 202.
