UPCOMING ROAD WORK: Ramstein East Gate construction scheduled to begin May 11.

The East Gate  construction work is scheduled to begin May 11 and will occur in multiple phases in an effort to minimize impact to the installation and service members. The roadway  paving  and repair work will be performed two lanes at a time.  The LVIS Gate's operating hours will be extended from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mon-Fri, to assist with the increase
in traffic. There will be two lanes open for inbound traffic and one lane open for outbound traffic during these hours for the LVIS Gate. LVIS Gate will be closed on both German and U.S. holidays. The estimated completion date for this construction project will be in October.

We recommend members coming from the A6, or Einsiedlerhof, direction use the LVIS Gate and members from the Mackenbach direction use the East Gate to assist with dispersing traffic. We also recommend members exiting RAB to do the same when returning home.

As a reminder, the East and West gates will remain open 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week throughout the construction phases. The construction is needed to maintain roadway safety, ride  quality and reduce vehicle deterioration.

Traffic delays should be expected during this time frame so please plan accordingly and remain flexible. Drivers should exercise extreme caution due to the proximity of heavy construction traffic and for everyone's safety. As always, we encourage members to adhere to  established  traffic laws and be safe.
