RAB Gate Operations during Rheinland-Pfalz State Fair Published June 25, 2015 By 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- The Rheinland-Pfalz State Fair is quickly approaching and we understand the KMC plans on attending. Before you or your families pack up the car to head toward Ramstein-Miesenbach there are a few important traffic-related items attendees need to know. The anticipated increase in traffic and the installation's gate operations have undoubtedly caused some confusion so please read carefully. Ramstein' s gate operations for June 26-28 during the RP State Fair are as follows: The West Gate will be open and operating as normal and allowing traffic flow for inbound and outbound motorists. However, foot and vehicle traffic leading up to the traffic circle off base before the West Gate will be very high, so we encourage everyone to use extreme caution when driving in that area. The traffic lanes between the off base West Gate traffic circle and the 435 Construction and Training Squadron compound (L363) will be limited to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane. The East Gate will still be open and operating with one inbound and one outbound lane. The LVIS gate will have extended operating hours to help ease the traffic for the installation. LVIS hours are as follows: June 26: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and June 27-28: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Inbound and outbound lanes will be open during these hours.
