AAFES reminds customers to gas up before holidays

German law prohibits gasoline delivery trucks from operating on the roads Sundays and holidays. Because the upcoming Christmas and New Year's both fall on a Monday, the last possible delivery for all AAFES gas stations is late Saturday afternoon, Dec. 23 for Christmas and Dec. 30 for New Year's. The next possible delivery after Christmas and New Year's would be the morning of Dec. 27 and the morning of Jan. 2, respectively.

It is possible the busier stations at Pulaski Barracks and Ramstein Air Base will run out of fuel before the morning of Dec. 27and Jan. 2. AAFES is working closely with the delivery companies to schedule a delivery as late as possible the day before the German holidays begin and as early as possible on the next delivery date, but customers are urged to top off tanks if traveling over the holidays.
