Recently, a Ramstein Public Affairs member stepped out to talk to members of Team Ramstein about their Memorial Day plans. This is what they had to say:

Capt. Shane Pair, 435th Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility chaplain
Q:What does Memorial Day mean to you?

A: It's a time to honor those who have given their lives and freedoms not only for Americans, but folks around the world.
Q: What are your plans for Memorial Day?
A: I'm going to be working, receiving Soldiers and Airmen into the CASF. Those who have been hurt, we still have to get them back to where they need to be.
Q: What's your favorite Memorial Day memory?
A: I'm with the Air National Guard. The best Memorial Day was last year when we were able to get together with the whole honor guard and go out and be a part of the parade to honor the Soldiers who had come back from the 39th Army Brigade. So, that was pretty cool; it was pretty fitting.

Staff Sgt. Chantae Johnson, 76th Airlift Squadron flight attendant
Q: What does Memorial Day mean to you?
A: To me it means remembering the people we've lost and celebrating their remembrance.
Q: What are your plans for Memorial Day?
A: I'll be working that weekend.
Q: What's your favorite Memorial Day memory?
A: I don't have one in particular.

Senior Airman Tatiana Reed, 435th Mission Support Squadron outbound customer service technician
Q: What does Memorial Day mean to you?

A time to reflect on people who have served in the military and what it means, what we do for our country.
Q: What are your plans for Memorial Day?
A: Just to relax and think about my purpose and why I'm in the military and recharge. Q: Q: What's your favorite Memorial Day memory?
A:
Barbeques with mom and being in the park when I was younger.

Airman 1st Class Nathan Boswell, 435th Security Forces Squadron Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe elite guard
Q: What does Memorial Day mean to you?
A: It's looking back on everything that?s happened, on all the people we?ve lost, everybody that?s served our country. Basically, remembering them and all the United States of American stands for.
Q: What are your plans for Memorial Day?
A: I think my wife has made plans to go to the cemetery in France, the U.S. cemetery there. So, we'll probably head up there and check it out.
Q: What's your favorite Memorial Day memory?
A: That's a tough one. Probably, just being with family back in the states on Memorial Day, having barbeques, hanging out, being with people you love and thinking about what the day means to everybody.
