October is Energy Awareness Month which immediately makes you think of electricity, but it also encompasses water. A faucet that drips five times per minute wastes approximately 175 gallons of water per year. With the price of gas being what it is, who isn't trying to save a few 0bucks at the pump these days? While we can't do anything about the price of gas, we can either buy more fuel efficient cars or we can assist the cars we currently own to burn fuel more efficiently. One simple way to increase your vehicle's mileage is to drive gently. Cars use the least amount of gas when they maintain a constant and reasonable speed. A typical entertainment system consists of a television, Stereo, an AFN receiver and often times a game console. If your household electronics require a transformer unplug the transformer from the wall when not in use. Transformers consume electricity whenever they are plugged in regardless of whether the 120V outlet is being used or not. October is energy conservation month which provides us the opportunity to increase awareness of the energy challenges that confront our planet.
