CE emphasizes holiday decoration safety for military housing

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- The 86th Civil Engineer Group is taking time this holiday season to emphasize safety in military housing.

Although family housing residents may display exterior decorations, housing residents should become familiar with rules for Christmas displays.

Please follow these rules.

1) Decorations may be displayed 30 days prior to the event and should be
removed within 10 days following that date.

2) Do not run an extension cord through doors or windows. Ensure the cord
is rated for exterior use.

3) DO NOT utilize portable transformers outside your housing unit.

4) Use only special clips designed for hanging exterior decorations on
homes. These clips are available in the exchange and off-base at garden
centers.

5) Do not place decorations on your roof.
