In October 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15 of each year as Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor the federal, state and municipal officers who died or are disabled in the line of duty. He also designated the week in which Peace Officers Memorial Day falls as Police Week.

During the week at Ramstein, several events will be held to honor Police Week with the focus of "For the Fallen."

May 11, there will be a relay from Volgelweh to Ramstein.

May 12, there will be a bowling day fundraiser at the Vogelweh Bowling Center
from 4 -8 p.m. Dress for the event will be civilian attire.

May 14 they will have "The Final Guardmount" where they honor SF members who have given their lives in the ultimate sacrifice at the Ramstein DV ramp 3 p.m.

More information on anyway of the week's activities please contact Master Sgt. Eric Peterson, 480-2231.
