Ramstein and USAG Kids Day Sept 2010 Published Sept. 2, 2010 By 86th Services Squadron RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Ramstein -- Ramstein and U. S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern ask all members to celebrate Boys and Girls Club of America Day for Kids and take the pledge to spend meaningful time together, to talk, to listen, to learn and to play, to share a moment, create a memory and make a kid's day. BGCA Day for Kids is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America's children by spending meaningful time with them. It's about celebrating kids - children, grandchildren or any child in need of mentoring. BGCA Day for Kids fosters relationships between children and adults that help children develop positive self-image, sense of belonging, usefulness, and purpose. This year's BGCA Day for Kids will be held Sept. 11 at Donnelly Park on Ramstein. To begin the celebration, Air Force Youth Sports Opening Day Ceremonies will commence at 9 a.m. Immediately following the ceremonies, BGCA Day for Kids activities and games will be available to include bouncy castles, face painting, and arts and crafts. Enjoy a free lunch with your child from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dorothy Choate, Airman and Family Services Flight Chief from the 86th Services Squadron states, "Every child needs a safe place to learn, grow, explore and have great mentors. Our children are special! They are the true heroes and today we want to invite the KMC youth and families to spend a meaningful day of play and celebrate being a kid."
