When Air Force Sergeants Association chief executive officer, retired Chief Master Sgt. John "Doc" McClauslin, sent out a warning that AFSA total membership was below 100,000 members, Brig. Gen. Mark Dillon, 86th Airlift Wing commander, Col. Kip Turain, 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing commander, and Col. John Shapland, 435th Air Ground Operations Wing commander responded by signing up to support AFSA.

AFSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting for enlisted benefits since 1961. AFSA is a leading force on Capitol Hill and works closely with elected representatives and their staff members to assist in drafting proposals for legislation on issues related to military members and their families.

"No professional organization does more to support our Airmen than the Air
Force Sergeants Association. It's critical we get our membership back above the required lobbying threshold. Every Airmen, enlisted or officer, who isn't already a member should seriously consider signing up today," said Tech. Sgt. Kristi Binard, AFSA Chapter 1674, president.

AFSA hosts numerous events to promote professionalism and legislative education such as the Professional Airman's Conference. The annual Division 16 (Europe) PAC will be hosted at Ramstein March 28 to 30 with an honors banquet closing out the event March 30. AFSA members not only have a voice directly into the ear of decision makers, but many other benefits as well. To find out more about AFSA, visit www.afsahq.org or e-mail afsaramstein@yahoo.com.
