The Ramstein Auto Hobby Shop hosted a day of free vehicle inspections Oct. 27, to prepare Ramstein for the bitter winter months to come.

October is also car care month and in keeping with the spirit, the shop decided a free 41-point inspection was the best way to promote the benefit of regular vehicle care.

"The inspection mostly deals with fluids and tires," said Steven Sabocz, an automotive worker for the Ramstein Auto Hobby Shop. "it's a great way to prep yourself for the winter and to see what needs to be fixed or filled before it is too late."

Aside from getting a personal vehicle inspected, Sabocz suggested winter tires should be swapped in now before the big rush at first snow.

"It's just safer with winter tires," he said. "Get it out of the way now and have that piece of mind to know you are safe."
