After operating for more than four months at the old Base Exchange here, the Northside Post Office will resume operations Nov. 14, at their primary location, building 426, next to the Woodlawn Golf Course.

The move will require the physical relocation of more than ten thousand mail receptacles, hundreds of parcels, and all postal equipment. The relocation will take approximately three days, at which time customers will be unable to access their mailboxes.

The current location at the old BX will lock its doors at 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 10 and re-open for business in building 426 at 10 a.m. on Nov. 14. During this period, all services will be suspended for Northside post office patrons. However, customers will have the option to mail packages on Nov. 12, by utilizing the Kapaun post office or Army postal finance sections located on Landstuhl, Rhine Ordnance Barracks and Kleber Kaserne.

The 86th Communication Squadron suggests picking up mail and parcels Nov. 8 through 10, as this will reduce the chance of packages being misplaced during the move and lessen the workload for the volunteer movers. Customers with mailboxes at the South Side or Kapaun post offices will not be affected by this move.
