RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- The fourth iteration of Operation Varsity commenced Dec. 9, 2019, providing Airmen the opportunity to sharpen their skills when dealing with imminent threats in the local area.
The exercise, designed to sprout unpredictable events throughout the base, requires Airmen to stay vigilant and test their ability to quickly react to scenarios. So far, a series of simulated air-to-ground missiles toward Lajes Field and MorĂ³n Air Base, Spain, and Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, caused Ramstein Airmen to posture themselves for potential acts of aggression in a central training environment.
Airmen continue to use training to improve upon the existing foundation and bolster readiness, so the mission can endure potential threats.
