Waiting for your household goods to arrive -- take advantage of these programs to help fill out your home temporarily.
The Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) has a loan locker and relocation services available. The loan locker can be found in building 2120 and has computers, loaner items, and local information guides. Relocation services include materials for sponsor packages, base INTRO an Orientation to Germany for both the sponsor and spouse, financial and child care assistance, and Information & Referral. Contact the A&FRC at 480-5100/5900 for more information.
If you are relocating to the KMC as accompanied or unaccompanied, you are authorized to live off-base and you can ship your furniture. Unfortunately, furniture shipments can take weeks to arrive.
The KMC Furnishings Management Office can provide a loaner kit of basic living, dining and bedroom furniture for up to 90 days pending the arrival of your household goods. FMO provides major appliances, such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and transformers for the entire tour.
The FMO office is located in Bldg. 720 at Einsiedlerhof Air Station. The office is open 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday for walk-in service; and 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for appointments.
You can reach the office staff at 489-6153, 489-6157 or 0631-536-6153. To open an account, bring a copy of your housing rental agreement for economy rentals or housing assignment for government quarters, PCS orders, family member travel orders and amendments.
FMO was established to issue authorized items of government-owned furnishings to eligible personnel. These furnishings will help you establish your household while your household goods are in transit, thus alleviating temporary lodging allowance expenses and helping defray the cost of your move. The number of items you're authorized is based on the number of command-sponsored dependents on your PCS orders and amendments. A loaner kit consisting of basic essential furniture is also available for all authorized personnel for up to 90 days after overseas arrival, pending receipt of incoming household goods and for up to 90 days before departure.
You are entitled to the following items on a permanent basis:
· Refrigerator, range (electric or gas), washer, dryer
· Kitchen cabinet (one per quarters)
· Wardrobe (only for economy quarters)
· Transformers (quantity subject to availability) · Microwave Oven (issued on and off base)
