“The Black Widow” WWII crash site, crew memorialized
Crosses are laid to honor nine aircrew members at the exact crash site of a fallen B-17G Flying Fortress in Mechtersheim, Germany, August 24, 2024.The aircraft, callsigned The Black Widow, crashed January 20, 1945 during World War II.
