U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Lamaar Melvin, 86th Medical Squadron Labor and Delivery supervisor, was responsible for the successful delivery of a baby on the ramp of a C-17 Globemaster lll aircraft at the beginning of the Afghan evacuation operations at Ramstein Air Base, Aug. 21, 2021. Melvin is currently responsible for running the Labor and Delivery floor at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, where he aids in the health and wellness of newborns.
