U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joseph Umipeg, 721st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Marek Johnson 721st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, worked on a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft hydraulic system while dawning full Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) 4 gear during exercise Nodal Lightning 20-2 at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Oct. 21, 2020. The 721st AMXS Airmen prepped the aircraft hydraulic system in order to simulate replacing one of the main landing gear tires, by propping it on its other tires. Nodal Lightning 20-2’s objective was to execute live events focused on executing the mission in a contested, degraded, and/or operationally limited environment.
