German community vows to remember
A memorial pillar, containing 192 Holocaust victims’ names stands in Synagogue Square, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Jan. 20, 2020. The memorial is made of remaining pieces of the original synagogue that was destroyed in 1938. While Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism is held annually on Jan. 27, service members and their families can learn about the victims of the Holocaust by reading about the Kaiserslautern memorials and local history throughout the year.
