Get up, get out, get going with outdoor rec

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- Toppling mountains, conquering castles, bombing down a snowy slope and a plethora of other adventures, activities and the supplies needed for a successful journey can be gathered from the 86th Force Support Squadron's Outdoor Recreation shop located inside the KMCC.

Outdoor rec strives to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles by providing the highest quality gear, facilities, and customer driven programs that satisfy the community's needs.

"This is the customers store, we're here to evaluate and satisfy their needs and wishes first," said Jerome Favors, 86th FSS retail store manager. "We want to have a hands on experience with all those coming in our doors and we want them to tell us what they want so we can help shape and provide the best possible future experience."

Besides an array of merchandise and rental equipment, Outdoor rec also offers a full-service bike and ski shop to satisfy both summer and winter activities.

"We try to provide as many options as possible to get out, stay active and stay fit with friends, families, the local community, or even just yourself, all inside a safe and familiar environment," said Misty Gilmartin, 86th FSS outdoor rec programmer.

Staying engaged has never been easier. Outdoor rec takes part in the Play Pass program, offered by the Airman & Family Readiness Center, as well the Single Airman program.

"Everyone has a certain interest we can entertain, whether it's climbing our rock wall or summiting the Zugspitze, we have something to offer you," said Lindsey McLean, 86th FSS recreation assistant. "We want you to leave our shop and come back from our trips with smile on your face and a story to tell."
