The wing was transported from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, and is the second wing to arrive in the first airlift operation of a C-130J aircraft wing. U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Justin Jordan, 86th Maintenance Group quality assurance superintendent, and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Oswald Ralph, 86th Maintenance Squadron wheel and tire non-commissioned officer in charge, open a cargo crate at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Jan. 30, 2025. The crate contained replacement wings for a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. This was the first airlift operation of this specific wing which required a custom fixture to make it possible to be transported via aircraft.
