Update: Following a joint investigation conducted by 86th Airlift Wing Security Forces and German Polizei, the incident that occurred June 12, 2024 in the KMCC Mall on Ramstein Air Base was confirmed to be non-hostile in nature, with no criminal activities involved. The individual in question has since been released. The KMCC Mall remains secure and continues to operate during normal business hours, ensuring the safety and convenience of all visitors. Initial release: At 3:57 p.m. Central European Time, Wednesday, June 12, a civilian employee brandished a knife at the Base Exchange on Ramstein Air Base. The suspect has been apprehended by Security Forces, and is currently in custody. There are no reported injuries related to the incident. An investigation is currently underway, and further information may be released as it becomes available. The area is secure, and the KMCC Mall remains open to the public.
