Team Ramstein identifies Airman killed in motorcycle accident

An Airman assigned to the 86th Airlift Wing died on Oct. 10, 2023, from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident that occurred Oct. 7, south of Ramstein Air Base, Germany. 

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Lionel Rhone Jr., served as a flight sergeant for the 86th Security Forces Squadron.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tech. Sgt. Rhone," said Brig. Gen. Otis C. Jones, 86th Airlift Wing commander. "Losing one of our own always has a great impact on the Ramstein family, which includes Lionel's family, friends, and coworkers. We will offer our support in every way possible as they endure this period of grief."

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
