USAFE’s FIRST Health and Fitness Expo to take place in May

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany --  United States Air Forces in Europe Services will host its first USAFE Health and Fitness Expo 27 May to 5 June 09. The Expo will combine a variety of vendors, health and fitness agencies, and special events in an effort to showcase the advantages of healthy lifestyle choices and the fun fitness activities can create. 

The Health and Fitness Expo dates are:

"The Expo is a way for Airmen and families to learn what their base offers in support of a healthy lifestyle," said Master Sergeant Paula Butler, USAFE Fitness Program Manager. 

"The Expo is also a way of connecting our military communities with health & fitness opportunities and it's designed to create awareness of all the activities and programs available", Butler added. 

Expos will take place at each base fitness center as they offer more than just a place for Airmen and their families to workout - they also offer intramural sports programs, personal trainers, pilates, yoga, spin classes and much more. Outdoor recreation will also participate in the USAFE Health and Fitness Expo featuring activities such as hiking, camping, biking, skiing and snowboarding. 

The Health and Wellness Centers will be present and assist with nutrition information, smoking cessation and BMI and Youth Programs' Fit Factor program will offer something for the younger population. 

"Ramstein Air Base is extremely honored to be hosting the first USAFE Fitness Expo," said Capt. Samantha Miller, 435th Services Deputy Combat Support Flight. "Our fitness facilities will be out there in full force to offer their services and programs to the local community."
