This year's KMC Rockin' 4th of July celebration takes place 2 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Kapaun air Station.

The event includes musical entertainment, children's activities, games, food specialties, prizes and a fireworks display.

"We have several bands performing live on stage," said Steve Jerome, chief, 435th Services Squadron community support flight.

The following bands perform:

2 to 3 p.m.: Bad Fish

3 to 5 p.m.: Fritkion Addiktion

5:30 to 6:30 pm.: Fishermans Friends Set No. 1

6:30 to 7:45 p.m.: Fisherman's Friends Set No. 2

9 to 10:15 p.m.: Blue October

11 p.m. to midnight: Jom Tones

Children can enjoy rides, bumper cars, a mini Ferris wheel, merry-go-round and inflation station. Games include darts, dunking booth, fishing game and ping pong ball.

Private organizations set up food booths offering barbecue chicken, bratwurst, cheeseburgers, hamburgers, chicken wings, hot dogs, lumpia, pulled pork, schwenksteaks, funnel cakes, cotton candy, root beer floats and fresh lemonade.

"We are asking visitors not to bring coolers with their own food and drinks," said Mr. Jerome. "Also, pets are not allowed."

A give-away with prizes by private sponsors starts at 8:30 p.m. on stage. Visitors who signed up between 2 and 8 p.m. at the sponsorship tent can win gift cards, cash, a weekend getaway and portable GPS system.

The fireworks show is scheduled from 10:30 to 11 p.m.

"We encourage Vogelweh Housing residents to walk to the celebration area on Kapaun," said William Dowell, deputy, 435th SVS community support flight. "Residents from other places should car pool if possible."

Security forces recommend to arrive on county street L395 (former B40) utilizing the Pulaski Gate entry control point.

"A shuttle will run on Vogelweh - Kapaun - Pulaski to take visitors from parking areas located away from the main event area; however, we recommend to be prepared to have to walk moderate distances," said Capt. Justin Secrest, 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron.

Polizei will be enforcing a ticket and towing policy for unauthorized parking on federal street B40/L395 and B270.

The event is open to ID card holders.

"We request personnel wishing to sign on guests to do so a day prior to avoid delays in gaining entry to the installation," said Capt. Secrest. "There will be visitor sign on areas at all entry control points, but prior coordination and pass issuance will greatly smooth entry operations."
