Ramstein, Spangdahlem Airmen remember the Wereth 11
Airman Seth Ringwalt, 86th Civil Engineer Squadron structural apprentice, participates in a ceremony to honor the memory of the Wereth 11, in Wereth, Belgium, March 24, 2017. Community members from the village of Wereth and Airmen from Ramstein Air Base and Spangdahlem Air Base came together to perform a ceremony to recognize the lives of 11 African American soldiers, now known as the Wereth 11. Those 11 soldiers fought bravely in the battle of Normany and the Battle of the Bulge, but were later captured, tortured and executed by the Nazi SS Dec. 17 1944. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech Sgt.
