A creative exhibition by hobby artists will take place June 4 - 5 at the Haus des Bürgers, the culture and convention center in Ramstein-Miesenbach.

About 45 exhibitors and vendors from Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland and Hessen will display and sell their art and craft items.

"In recent years we always had American hobby artists take part as well, but unfortunately they had to move," said Marita Altherr, one of the organizers. "For our Christmas exhibition in November, we would like to establish new contacts with Americans again."

Various types of crafts will be presented. Artists will demonstrate how to spin yarn from lamb's wool and how to create felt works. Variations of silk and textile needlework will be on display. Visitors can admire accessories and clothes.

One female crafter will show off her elaborate tablecloths.

Marbles of glass worked into delicate mobiles and different ceramic works will enrich the wide range of presentations. Fine objects made of paper such as silhouettes and bookbinding works will be presented as well as handcrafted jewelries of different materials. Artists will offer birds made of stone and metal, wooden objects and floristry items. There will be handmade soap, liquors, schnaps and homemade organic marmalades and jelly. A female participant will offer her homemade cookies for dogs.
In the cafeteria, visitors can take a break and eat homemade cakes or sandwiches with coffee, tea and beverages. Exhibition hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

"We are organizing these special creative exhibitions for 20 years now," said Mrs. Altherr. "And we are always looking for more hobby artists who are proud of their creations and like to display them."

Any hobby artists interested in taking part in the next exhibition in November, should call Mrs. Altherr at 06371-52680, email her at altherrmarita@arcor.de or just visit her at the Haus des Bürgers Saturday or Sunday.
