Two 37th Airlift Squadron C-130J Super Hercules aircraft practice flying in formation in preparation for events commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, over Germany, May 27, 2014. A Douglas C-47 Skytrain, known as Whiskey 7 led the legacy squadron that would become the 37th AS, recently returned to mainland Europe and landed at Ramstein Air Base. The C-47 was assigned to the 37th Troop Carrier Squadron as the lead aircraft for the unit and dropped the 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division on Drop Zone "O" near Sainte-Mere Eglise, France.
