CMSgt Jared Roman is the Command Chief for the 435th Air
Ground Operations Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The
“FOLLOW ME” Wing provides battlefield and expeditionary
Airmen to Combatant Commanders, ensuring readiness to
respond to a wide range of humanitarian and contingency
operations around the globe. The wing is highly capable and
versatile, composed of three groups, 12 squadrons, and four
detachments. With more than 1,400 personnel, the wing
operates from 26 strategic locations spread across Germany,
Italy, and regions extending from the Baltics to the Balkans.
This extensive presence enables the wing to effectively
support and enhance mission capabilities, whether in times of
conflict or crisis, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to
both military and humanitarian objectives.
Chief Roman enlisted in the United States Air Force in January
2000. He completed the Operations Intelligence Apprentice
Course at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, the same year.
His diverse background spans various roles within the AllSource Intelligence and Military Training Instructor career
fields. As an intelligence analyst, Chief Roman has held
multiple leadership positions, including Group and Squadron
Senior Enlisted Leader, Wing Intelligence and Operations
Superintendent, and Additional Duty First Sergeant. He is also
a certified Master Military Training Instructor (Blue Rope).
Chief Roman has deployed to support multiple operations, including IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN,
FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, CJTF-HORN OF AFRICA, and missions in the Republic of Korea, and Japan. Prior to his
current position, the Chief was the Senior Enlisted Leader, 323d Training Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.
