Members assigned in the Kaiserslautern local community quickly filled an entire aircraft hangar in anticipation of the Tops in Blue performance October 15, 2009, Ramstein Air Base Germany. Tops in Blue put on an amazing performance on October 15, 2009, Ramstein Air Base Germany, but it wouldn't have been possible without numerous of volunteers headed by members of the 86th Services Squadron. Celebrating more than 56 years of entertainment history, Tops in Blue represents the U.S. Air Force as one of the oldest and most widely traveled entertainment groups of it's kind. Tops in Blue members not only perform, but each member is assigned an additional duty such as ground transportation, airlift, lodging, dining, wardrobe, and palletizing more than 54,000 pounds of equipment. Tops in Blue put on an amazing performance on October 15, 2009, Ramstein Air Base Germany, but it wouldn't have been possible without numerous of volunteers headed by members of the 86th Services Squadron. U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Blake Whilden, 1rst Special Operations Force Support Squadron Services Journeyman, is currently serving his second consecutive one year special duty assignment with the U.S. Air Force?s Tops in Blue performance group performing on October 15, 2009, Ramstein Air Base Germany. Serving as the performances lighting director, Airman Whilden controls over 250 lighting fixtures from a single computerized console. Tops in Blue is a self contained operational unit with each member being assigned logistical responsibilities such as ground transportation, airlift, lodging, dining, wardrobe, and palletizing more than 54,000 pounds of equipment.
