Boxes of chaff, a radar countermeasure used by aircraft that consist of aluminum coated fiberglass, sit on pallets in a building at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, June 24, 2021. Clearing the decoy chaffs is done differently at every base, but due to German Laws the aluminum must be disposed of separately from the chaff. Members of the Operational Planning Team, 86th Munitions Squadron and 86th Maintenance Squadron are collaborating to find an efficient process to clear the decoy chaff for Ramstein Airmen while still following German law.
