Ramstein leadership joins Airmen, celebrates Thanksgiving

Every year at Ramstein, leadership across the Kaiserslautern Military Community visits the base’s dining facility to cook food and meet Airmen during Thanksgiving. Menu items included turkey, prime rib, ham, mashed potatoes and dressing. In the U.S., the modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition can trace its origins back to 1621 in the heart of a newly-founded city called Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. However, the first nationwide Thanksgiving proclamation was made by the first president of the U.S., George Washington, in 1789.
