RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany -- The 86th Airlift Wing invites members of the Kaiserslautern Military Community to attend the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at Northside Chapel on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Nov. 27, at 5:00 p.m.

The ceremony will begin at the Northside Chapel with a musical program performed by the United States Air Forces Europe Band and Ramstein Chapel Combined Choir. After the tree lighting, Santa Claus will arrive in a firetruck to pass out candy to the children. Attendees are invited to the Officer’s Club for a reception.

U.S. Air Force Capt. Ioan Dumitrascu, 86th Airlift Wing chaplain, said celebrating the community centered event allows for joy, hope and peace.

“The annual tree lighting is a chance for leaders from both Ramstein Air Base and the town of Ramstein-Miesenbach to affirm the ever-growing partnership between the two communities,” said Dumitrascu. “The many branches of the tree represent the symbiotic relationship between German and American partners. It is a vital representation of positive interactions between USAFE, many NATO partners, German authorities, coworkers, neighbors and team players.”

Parking will be available the Northside Chapel. Expect traffic delays and road closures during the event. The traffic circle adjacent to the Bldg. 201 compound will be shut down and vehicles will be turned around or redirected during the event.
