Ramstein will host the 2017 ESPN Armed Forces Classic NCAA game between the Texas A&M Aggies and West Virginia Mountaineers in Hangar 5 the evening of Nov. 10.

All active duty, Department of Defense and NATO ID-card holders are eligible to attend the event. Tickets have been dispersed to wing, group, and tenant unit commanders and directors. Anyone interested in receiving a ticket can make a request through their chain of command.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to extend our relationship with the Department of Defense," said Clint Overby, ESPN events vice president. "The premier event will continue its tradition of showcasing the beginning of each college basketball season while honoring the service of the men and women stationed at military bases across the world."

One ticket corresponds to one attendee, and there are no reserve tickets for last minute requests. Anyone wanting a guaranteed ticket can sign up to volunteer at www.86fss.com and will receive one ticket per shift. Due to the large scope of the event, the 86th Force Support Squadron will need event volunteers from Nov. 6 to Nov. 12 for set-up and tear-down of the hangar.

"This is an opportunity to showcase the men and women of Ramstein and how we proudly execute the mission every day for the most powerful Air Force the world has ever known," said Brig. Gen. Richard G. Moore, Jr., commander of the 86th Airlift Wing. "We're putting on a world-class event and Ramstein is deeply honored to have a hand in launching the NCAA basketball season."

Ticket holders will need to be in their seats in Hangar 5, Bldg. 3360, no later than 11 p.m. Active duty attendees are required to be in the uniform of the day and civilians in business casual attire.

Active duty personnel in uniform and DOD ID-card holders are eligible to enter a stand-by line if they did not receive a ticket, and may get a seat for the game on a space available basis.

All tickets will be tracked to ensure they are not sold, and no outside food, drinks, coolers, backpacks or pets will be allowed in the hangar.
